10 Charming Pittsburgh Tea Rooms Perfect for Mother’s Day
Celebrate Mother’s Day in Pittsburgh by having tea with the queen—that is, Mom.
This Mother’s Day, treat the mom in your life with—or drop a hint to your family about—an elaborate afternoon tea service at one of the many tea rooms in Greater Pittsburgh. Afternoon tea, also often referred to as high tea, is an English tradition that makes a social occasion of enjoying tea and fancy fare like finger sandwiches, scones, sweet treats, and other light snacks. Pittsburgh is home to a number of tea rooms, restaurants, and cafés that serve afternoon tea, either daily or for special occasions like Mother’s Day, which in 2025 will be celebrated on May 11.
Reservations are required for most tea services, so book early to ensure this Mother’s Day will be filled with some of the finer things in life.
