Six Flags Fiesta Texas brings an extra level of warm-weather fun to the San Antonio area. Check out these rides that we’ve ranked from easy to ultra-thriller.
Warm weather inherently calls for some serious fun under the sun, and if you’re in Texas, that can mean many things. For instance, locals and natives alike love finding new places to stop, shop, and savor along the San Antonio Riverwalk, but if you’re in the Alamo City, there’s also another key attraction where ample fun awaits: Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
Six Flags has 26 amusement parks spread across North America, and two of them are located in Texas: the aforementioned Fiesta Texas in San Antonio and Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington. These cities are over four hours away from each other by car—and that number climbs to over seven hours if you take the train—so these two amusement parks maximize how much fun Texans can have when the weather is nice.
Six Flags Fiesta Texas specifically has a lot going for it. For one, it houses Hurricane Harbor San Antonio, a premier waterpark where you can lounge and enjoy the waves in spades. It also has its fair share of rides that range from throat-killing thrillers to breezy, easygoing jaunts. So, if you’re looking for a breakdown of Fiesta Texas rides in descending order by thrill level, you’ve come to the right place. With this guide, you’ll be having endless fun all spring and summer long.
19. Fiesta Texas Railroad
We’re starting with the calmest Fiesta Texas rides before working our way down to the ones with the biggest thrills, and as such, there’s no better place to start than Fiesta Texas Railroad. This ride is exactly as it sounds: a gentle train ride to welcome folks to the amusement park. On this ride, you can get a view of most of the park, and the park’s website notes that there are two entrances to the train: one at Whistlestop Station #39 and the other at Der Pilger Bahnhof (“Bahnhof” is German for “train station”). Ultimately, the only screams you’ll hear on this ride are children having a blast.
18. Foghorn Leghorn’s Barnyard Railway
Like the Fiesta Texas Railroad, Foghorn Leghorn’s Barnyard Railway is a breezy train ride for children that should only feature yells of excitement, not from scary drops. Kids are sure to love this colorful ride, too, as it features images of the titular “Looney Tunes” character across its surface. (Even if some kids haven’t heard of Foghorn Leghorn in the streaming age, this is one ride that’s so much of a simple pleasure that they’re bound to enjoy it.)
17. Grand Carousel
The Grand Carousel debuted at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in 1992, and in the decades since, it has whisked countless people ‘round and ‘round and ‘round. This is perhaps slightly more thrilling than the train rides, but it’s still fairly tame, landing itself toward the bottom of this list. Still, it’s fun to do if you’ve never experienced a carousel before.
16. Kinderstein
Kinderstein is a classic amusement park attraction, both when discussing Fiesta Texas rides and in general. Kinderstein is this park’s take on the classic teacup ride. You know the one: You sit inside a teacup, huddled around its outer perimeter, and spin ‘round and ‘round as the teacup zips around. Every amusement park seems to have its own version of this ride, and for good reasons. It’s fun for the full family, and it helps kids feel like they’re really getting in on thrilling action.
15. The Penguin: Gotham City Getaway
The last of the children-specific Fiesta Texas rides on this list, The Penguin: Gotham City Getaway is a fun and slightly more thrilling attraction for parents to do with their younguns. This ride, named after the famous DC Comics villain, sees guests driving a car to escape a crime before Batgirl has the chance to apprehend you. It’s not a free-for-all, though; the ride has tracks to keep cars from going off the rails (pun intended).
14. Crow’s Nest
We’re finally taking to the skies with the Crow’s Nest, one of the simplest but most electrifying Fiesta Texas rides. The Crow’s Nest is a pretty classic Ferris wheel, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t special. Anyone who’s ever been on one knows that seeing the world from such a high view is, well, eye-opening. There’s also the slow-paced nature of the ascent and descent that allows you to truly savor every moment. It’s thrilling in a different way than a rollercoaster, but thrilling nonetheless.
13. Poison Ivy Toxic Spin
In many ways, Poison Ivy Toxic Spin is like an elevated version of Kinderstein, just without teacups and in the air instead of grounded. The iconic DC Comics villain (who can forget Uma Thurman’s portrayal of her?) created pods that will move in the air, and your job is simply to get in them and have fun. The sides of the pods are open, so you’ll be able to see your surroundings as Ivy does her best to rattle you. But we both know you won’t let it faze you.
12. Taz’s Tornado
Taz’s Tornado is another of the myriad “Looney Tunes”-inspired Fiesta Texas rides, but it stands out from some of the others by being airborne. Parents and children alike will enjoy this ride, which sees them strapped into swings and swung around. Like Kinderstein, this is Fiesta Texas’ take on the classic swing ride you may have seen at other amusement parks, but we’d argue this is the cutest version thanks to the Tasmanian Devil theme.
11. Wave Runner
The Wave Runner promises endless fun thanks to its sharp movements that leave riders wondering where they’re going next. This zippy ride hits you with bursts of water randomly while it moves, so it’s an unexpected and thrilling journey every time. This also makes it one of the best Fiesta Texas rides to line up for partway through your day when you need to cool off some but aren’t ready to fully commit to the waterpark.
10. The Gully Washer
If you do want to commit to getting water, though, you should check out The Gully Washer. As the Six Flags Fiesta Texas website notes, this attraction is like a suped-up lazy river. Instead of lazing on an inflated tube while the water gently carries you through its course, The Gully Washer uses whitewater-like rapids to create a rollercoaster of an experience. You may leave this one soaked, but you’ll feel thrilled—and that’s all that really matters, right?
9. Hurricane Force 5
If you’re looking for Fiesta Texas rides that will leave your heart pumping, look no further than Hurricane Force 5. Described on the park’s website as “hurricane-shaped,” this ride will swing you around like no other while you’re strapped to “motorcycle-like seats.” You might feel a pit in your stomach, but that’s how you know you’re having a good time—and the rides only get more thrilling from here.
8. Bahama Blaster
Have fun at The Gully Washer? If so, you need to check out the Bahama Blaster next. This waterpark ride will leave you guessing what’s coming next as it uses “trap-door-style launching capsules” to launch you into extremely high slides that twist and turn constantly. In our opinion, this is the most thrilling of the Fiesta Texas rides in the waterpark.
7. Supergirl Sky Flight
The DC Comics character Supergirl is a high-flying, thrill-seeking hero, and you can get a peek into her world when riding the Supergirl Sky Flight attraction. This is one of the most thrilling Fiesta Texas rides for those who specifically seek high heights. You simply strap into a seat, and up you go. It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s you! You’ll swing around 200 feet in the air, getting a good view of the whole park, as well as what Supergirl must see every time she takes to the skies. (And with her eponymous film coming out in June 2026, there’s no better time to experience this ride.)
6. Scream!
As far as Fiesta Texas rides go, Scream! is a feet-kicker of a thrilling time. It’s similar to the Supergirl ride in that it takes you 200 feet in the air—205 in this case—but instead of swinging around, you’re strapped tightly to the center structure. Once you reach the top, you drop toward the ground. This is a classic amusement park ride that never gets old for thrill-seekers, but it’s not closer to the top of the list because Six Flags Fiesta Texas simply has some even more thrilling rides in its back pocket.
5. Boomerang Coast to Coaster
If simply dropping from the sky isn’t thrilling enough for you, you need to mosey on over to the Boomerang Coast to Coaster. This rollercoaster goes every which way, shooting back and forth in true boomerang fashion. It’s a unique take on the classic rollercoaster ride, and it’s sure to leave your stomach in your throat. Still, other rollercoasters are even wilder—if you’re up to it.
4. Batman The Ride
Are you down to go upside down on a rollercoaster? If so, this is one of the best Fiesta Texas rides for you. Batman The Ride will make you feel like you’re behind the wheel of the Batmobile as you escape nefarious villains, swerving all over the place and racing against the clock. This ride comes complete with wingover loops and corkscrew descents, as well as a 10-story ascent in the beginning. We wouldn’t recommend eating right before you board this one.
3. Fireball
Most people think of long, stretched-out tracks when they envision rollercoasters, but we’re here with a PSA that looping rollercoasters exist—and they’re just as much fun, if not more, than traditional ones. Enter Fireball, one of the most unique Fiesta Texas rides. This looping coaster is seven stories high and inverts six times to keep thrill-seekers engaged. You may feel your blood rush to your head, but it’s #WorthIt, right?
2. Dare Devil Dive Flying Machines
Rollercoasters have structure to them—they follow the same predictable, albeit thrilling, route every time. But what happens when patterns are thrown out the window, and you begin moving more erratically? That’s what the Dare Devil Dive Flying Machines are poised to answer. Even if programmed with a set routine, this ride, which sees folks in four-person steam-punk-inspired “machines,” gives the illusion of spontaneous movement, which automatically makes it more thrilling than other Fiesta Texas rides.
1. Superman Krypton Coaster
Finally, the most thrilling of all Fiesta Texas rides, in our opinion, is the Superman Krypton Coaster. This rollercoaster genuinely tries to emulate the flight of everyone’s favorite Metropolis reporter by not having a floor underneath the seats. Thrilling, right? It only gets better from there, too. This coaster is 168 feet tall, and it contains the “second tallest” coaster loop worldwide, coming in at 145 feet tall. Ultimately, you’re guaranteed to leave this ride with a smile on your face as though you’ve just defeated Lex Luthor à la David Corenswet, Tyler Hoechlin, Christopher Reeve—or any other actor who has brought the Man of Steel to life.
