With fresh ingredients and large menus, these seven Las Vegas taco trucks are beloved by locals.

Taco trucks are not new to the food scene, dating back to the 1970s. However, these restaurants on wheels have taken Las Vegas by storm in recent years.

An icon of Mexican culture in the United States, taco trucks have rolled into the mainstream with people of all backgrounds standing in line for authentic south-of-the-border tastes. They are also the ideal destination for fast service and freshly-made food without the fuss.

Whether it’s Taco Tuesday or any other day of the week, check out these seven taco trucks, all of which are local favorites.

1. Tacos Los Barrios

When: 10 a.m. – 11 p.m. daily
Where: 1570 W Cheyenne Ave (closed Wednesdays); 2901 N Rancho Dr. (closed Mondays)

If you’re craving birria tacos or simply want some delicious Mexican food, look for the bright red Tacos Los Barrios food truck at either of its two Las Vegas locations. The family-owned taco trucks have a varied menu with choices like quesabirria, birria ramen, tacos, fries, nachos, burritos, tortas, and agua fresca.

Yelpers rave about the food, including “the best queso birria tacos in town,” which they suggest you dip in the warm consommé (only 99 cents), another favorite due to its rich flavor and spices. In addition to the trucks, Tacos Los Barrios has brick-and-mortar locations in Las Vegas and Henderson. Check Instagram for the restaurant’s daily specials including a Taco Tuesday deal every week.

2. Taqueria Casa Del Sabor

When: 24 hours a day, daily
Where: 530 N. Las Vegas Blvd

For those late-night and early-morning taco cravings — anytime, really — Taqueria Casa Del Sabor has you covered. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Vegas-themed food truck (and two brick-and-mortar locations) serves a wide array of Mexican food, including street tacos, burritos, tortes, alambres, and quesadillas as well as agua frescas, horchata, and pineapple juice.

Yelpers aren’t crazy about the location or lack of parking, but they say the food makes up for it. Reviewers also say the tacos in particular are “worth the hype.” Plus, the food truck is run efficiently with a drive-thru setup so you don’t have to get out of your car.

3. Taqueria el pastorcito

When: 4 p.m. to midnight, Monday-Thursday, to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday, to 1 a.m. Sunday; 5 p.m. to midnight, Wednesday through Sunday
Where: 1655 E Charleston Blvd.; 6050 Smoke Ranch

These white, no-frills taco trailers (plus one brick-and-mortar location) claim to have the best tacos al pastor in Las Vegas with several different types of meat, including al pastor (marinated pork), lengua (beef tongue), chicken, and chorizo (spicy sausage). Everything on the Mexican street food menu including tacos, alambres, tortas, burritos, quesadillas, and mulitas is prepared in-house.

Yelpers say the tacos al pastor aren’t just the best in Las Vegas but “the best in the world” and that they’re “utterly mouthwatering.” They also suggest all three types of salsas. The staff is friendly and organized, and there is typically ample parking.

4. Vitos Tacos

When: See schedule
Where: See schedule

With two brick-and-mortar locations and a fleet of shiny black food trucks, Vitos Tacos serves up the savory flavors of birria across the Las Vegas valley. Birria nachos, combo plates, ramen, and fries are among the juicy, flavorful, and filling birria choices. They also have traditional burritos, mulitas, and quesadillas as well as some non-traditional choices. This is a great food truck if you don’t eat meat or you’re cutting carbs since they have vegetarian choices like a veggie burrito and taco, as well as a Keto taco.

Yelpers describe Vitos Tacos as having “damn good food” and good prices with one Yelper admitting, “I would honestly pay more.” The quesabirria is “the best” and the consommé is “the chef’s kiss.”

5. Street Taco Al Vapor

When: Tuesday-Sunday, 4-11:30 p.m.; Tuesday-Sunday, 2-11:30 p.m.
Where: 330 Centennial Parkway; 6145 W Cactus Avenue

The Street Tacos Al Vapor trailer is small but mighty with a full menu of freshly made Mexican food, made from family recipes passed down through the generations. Along with a large birria menu, there are tacos, burritos, tortas, and quesadillas, as well as drinks like agua frescas and bottled soda. Street Tacos Al Vapor is a popular destination that can get busy, but it’s easy and quick thanks to an organized drive-thru setup with cones separating lanes and a server who comes to your window.

Yelpers call it a “must try” with delicious food, excellent service, and decent prices, noting, “They truly are the best and it shows in the amount of time and love they put into their food.”

6. Tacos La Carreta

When: Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Friday & Saturday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Sunday, 11 a.m.-10p.m.
Where: 4130 Spring Mountain Road

With a prime location in Chinatown Las Vegas, the colorful Tacos La Carreta truck has a loyal following and a large menu of Mexican food including deep-fried potato tacos, asada tacos, al pastor tacos, carne asada fries, sopes, tortas, and burritos. Not in the mood for Mexican food? You can get a fully loaded hot dog. The truck has a bar area where you can sit and eat, and chairs are set up in the parking lot for sitting while waiting for your food.

The chorizo is “amazing,” according to Yelpers, and the tacos are “solid.” But it was the verde, roja, and orange salsas that “brought everything together.”

7. Birrieria Gonzales

When: 9:30 a.m.-11 p.m., daily
Where: 5068 E Washington Avenue

A mainstay in Los Angeles, California, Birrieria Gonzales also has a Tijuana-style birria truck in a well-lit parking lot in Las Vegas. From birria plates to burritos, tortas to tostadas, the truck has a large menu of main dishes, sides, desserts, and drinks.

Yelpers say to grab extra napkins for a savory, hearty, juicy, crunchy, and cheesy meal which they recommend eating right away so it doesn’t get soggy. The “bomb” consommé with chopped onions and beef is a favorite on its own as are the birria tacos. Plus, the food is made with love. As one Yelper put it: “The cooks were singing and having a great time while making our food and it put a smile on my face.”
