Following the remarkable success of its inaugural event that raised over $1.7 million in 2024, Delco Gives Day is set to return for its second year on May 8-9, 2025. This 24-hour charitable giving initiative, which connects hundreds of local nonprofits with thousands of generous donors, aims to build on the momentum of its first year while fostering an even stronger sense of community throughout Delaware County, Pa.
Power Home Remodeling (POWER) has renewed its commitment as the presenting sponsor for this transformative event. As POWER co-founder Adam Kaliner explains, “Delco Gives Day is more than just a fundraising event; it’s a celebration of generosity and community spirit. How Delco Gives Day works
The Foundation for Delaware County hosts this community-wide celebration through an online giving platform that showcases hundreds of participating nonprofits. What makes this event particularly impactful is its unique bonus structure – organizations receive additional funding based on their total number of donors rather than dollar amounts, encouraging broad community participation over large individual donations.
During the 24-hour giving period, local businesses will sponsor special cash prizes, creating additional incentives for donor participation and helping to maximize the impact of each contribution.
Building on first-year success
The inaugural event in 2024 demonstrated the community’s extraordinary generosity, with 9,600 donors contributing to nearly 300 nonprofits. Frances M.
