What it’s like to stay in Skyeview, Arizona’s most Insta-worthy Airbnb
I stayed overnight in Skyeview, one of the most luxurious and Instagram-worthy Airbnbs in the state. Here’s why I’ll be dreaming about it for months to come.
Perched on the south face of Camelback Mountain, Skyeview isn’t just a luxury Airbnb—it’s a front-row seat to the most impressive and expansive views in Phoenix. As someone who has lived in the Valley for more than two decades, I’ve certainly seen my fair share of great views of this city from various vantage points (whether while flying into Sky Harbor or at the summit of a long hike), but absolutely none have compared to this.
From the moment my boyfriend and I arrived, we knew we were in for something extraordinary. The city skyline stretched endlessly before us, and the colors changed as time passed throughout the day, from the soft light at dawn to glowing golden at sunset to positively twinkling under the night sky. This was more than a stay; it was an experience that is usually only relished by the wealthy—but thanks to the magic of Airbnb rentals, it’s more accessible than ever.
The pinnacle of luxury and comfort
As we turned up the steep driveway to Skyeview and walked through the large metal door hiding the oasis of this property behind it, we were immediately struck by the meticulous attention to detail. The home, completely reimagined with a robust remodel by Cameron Custom Homes & Renovations, blends modern luxury with warm, natural textures that seamlessly integrate with the surrounding desert landscape.
Designed by Joel Contreras and Trent Hancock, the interior features floor-to-ceiling windows that open up and fold away for indoor/outdoor living spaces, perfectly framing vistas of Papago Mountain and downtown Phoenix. We found sleek yet comfortable furnishings and an art collection—including stunning pieces by Western artist Mark Maggiori and photographers Tyler Shields and Jean-Luc Almond.
Another lovely touch that pays homage to the area’s history is the TV in the great room above the fireplace, which digitally displays a vintage photo of the same skyline taken nearly 100 years earlier. Every inch of this home exudes style, sophistication, and a sense of tranquility.
One of my favorite amenities was the complimentary wet bar, making it easy to unwind with a cocktail while soaking in the view. The private pool and jacuzzi, tucked above the home with custom steel pergolas, offered the perfect retreat. I also fell in love with the Redwood barrel sauna and outdoor bathtub—there’s something incredibly relaxing about a sauna session and soak with a panoramic mountain backdrop.
Wellness meets ultimate indulgence
What truly set this stay apart was the ability to elevate our relaxation to rival that of a five-star resort experience. The property manager is available to arrange for in-house wellness services, so we took him up on that. Raelle Jordan from Wrestling With Wellness arrived at Skyeview to provide personalized massages in one of the two master suites, blending deep relaxation with therapeutic techniques and intuitive touch. As I listened to soft music and felt the tension melt away, I realized I had reached peak luxury.
Following our back-to-back massages, we made ourselves comfortable on the balcony for an IV infusion therapy session provided by Drip’d Mobile IV. The experience of getting a vitamin-rich IV while lounging in one of the most beautiful homes in Phoenix felt like the epitome of self-care. It was a reminder that Skyeview isn’t just about staying somewhere spectacular—it’s about emerging from the experience feeling revitalized and refreshed.
For guests looking to elevate their stay even further, Skyeview offers an array of premium add-ons. A high-end shuttle service is available for seamless airport transfers or nights out in Scottsdale, and private chef dinners can be arranged. In the morning, we were treated to the spectacular sunrise over the Valley in bed. Sipping coffee and tea on the balcony as the world below slowly came to life, I felt a sense of peace that’s hard to find in the bustle of everyday life.
