Small Business Saturday is returning to Virginia on Saturday, Nov. 29. The special day serves as an opportunity to lift up small businesses, score deals, and engage in holiday cheer. From Downtown Roanoke to the ViBe District in Virginia Beach, communities across the commonwealth are encouraging holiday shoppers to shop small and support the locally owned stores and restaurants, as well as makers, that contribute such vibrancy to Virginia’s economy.
Whether you’re looking to buy one-of-a-kind gifts for your loved ones or score some handcrafted holiday decor, these Small Business Saturday events present the perfect opportunity to kickstart your holiday shopping while keeping your dollars in the community.
Shop Small for the Holidays in Page County
Location: Page County, VA
Shop Small for the Holidays serves as the official holiday season kick-off event for Page County. The Nov. 29 event features shopping at local stores and dining at local restaurants all throughout the county.
The effort the champion small businesses will extend to Dec. 21, with shoppers who make a local purchase being entered into a drawing to receive one of three local shopping sprees. The winners will either receive $100, $250, or $500 shopping sprees. Those who make a valid purchase can either email a photo of their receipt to the Luray-Page Chamber of Commerce or drop it off at the chamber office. Each receipt sent in will count for one entry.
Shop Small Stafford: Small Business Saturday
Location: Stafford County, VA
Shop Small Stafford: Small Business Saturday on Nov. 29 is a countywide celebration of the county’s locally owned businesses. The event’s tagline is “Shop small, support local, and win big.”
Organizers from the Stafford County Department of Economic Development say that for every $1 spent at a small business, $0.68 stays in the community to help fund local jobs and services.
To find out which of the 5,000 Stafford County businesses are participating in the day, access the digital passport. Those who check in at a participating business using the passport will be entered for a chance to win gift cards and prizes. There will also be a Shop Small Market at 163 Staffordboro Blvd., Stafford, VA 22556.
Culpeper Downtown Small Business Saturday
Location: Downtown Culpeper, VA
Culpeper Downtown’s Small Business Saturday embodies the idea that shopping small is big. Organizers promise the best specials and promotions that are sure to jumpstart your holiday shopping. The event runs from 7 a.m.-10 p.m.
As a bonus, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be roaming around the downtown area from 1-5 p.m., so be sure to snap a picture with them.
Uptown Martinsville Small Business Saturday
Location: Uptown Martinsville, VA
Every Saturday after Thanksgiving, Uptown Martinsville comes alive as locals flock to the shops that line the streets in search of sales and drawings. Some of the local restaurants even get on the fun by offering specials and promotions.
The Uptown Martinsville organization also distributes $500 in Uptown Bonus Bucks to be used that day.
Small Business Saturday in Arlington

Small Business Saturday is the season’s biggest shopping event in Arlington. The Nov. 29 event allows the community to rally around locally owned businesses. Astonishingly, the city is home to 15,000 small businesses, including many that are minority-owned, woman-owned, and LGBTQ+ friendly.

Small Business Saturday in Fredericksburg
Small Business Saturday will last all day on Saturday, Nov. 29, in Downtown Fredericksburg. The day will feature a festive celebration of local businesses.
Colonial Williamsburg Small Business Saturday
Colonial Williamsburg’s Small Business Saturday event in Merchants Square will feature Lilly Pulitzer Signature Store, Three Sisters & Three Cabanas, and clothing and gift boutique J. Fenton.
Three Sisters & Three Cabanas will offer $20 off every $100 that is spent, whereas J. Fenton is offering 30% off select Eileen Fisher products, with additional clothing items also on sale on both floors.
Small Business Saturday in Strasburg

Strasburg’s Small Business Saturday event on Saturday, Nov. 29, will take place all throughout the town. Community members are encouraged to come out that day and support local businesses by buying small, which is said to have a major impact on the local economy. The day will feature special deals, promotions, and holiday cheer.
Downtown Roanoke Small Business Saturday
Location: Downtown Roanoke, VA
Downtown Roanoke Inc.’s Small Business Saturday event runs from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, Nov. 29. The festivities will kick off in the Market Square that day at 10 am.
Some of the businesses slated to participate include clothing retailer 310 Rosemont at 312 Market St., candy store Chocolatepaper at 308 Market St. SE, and gallery Art on 1st at 300 1st St.
10th Annual Small Business Saturday in the ViBe District
Location: ViBe Creative District, Virginia Beach, VA 23454
Given that the ViBe District in Virginia Beach is almost exclusively made up of small, locally owned and operated businesses, the 10th Annual Small Business Saturday event is a big deal in the district. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of small businesses in Hampton Roads, with roughly 75 businesses participating along the 1.5-mile stretch of the district.
Live music will be provided by Big Juicy Entertainment with an emphasis on local musicians.
Participating businesses include beach-inspired jewelry brand Jypsea Jewelry, women’s clothing store Robin Boutique, and coconut wax-based Pretty Palm Candle Co.

Hardywood RVA’s Small Business Saturday
Location: 2410 Ownby Ln., Richmond, VA
Hardywood RVA’s 4th Annual Small Business Saturday event will bring together local artists and makers selling handmade home décor, art, jewelry, apparel, and more. Lasting from 12 to 5 pm on Nov. 29, the event will be in Hardywood’s Barrel Room.
Sip & Shop Small Business Saturday Market
Location: 2800 Shore Dr., Virginia Beach, VA
Delta Hotels Virginia Beach invites locals and visitors to sip mimosas and wine while shopping its Sip & Shop Small Business Saturday Market, which will feature handcrafted goods from local small businesses.
Running from 12 to 4 pm on Saturday, Nov. 29, the event is free to attend. Each attendee will receive a 20% off day-of coupon card for Tides Coastal Kitchen, a beachfront restaurant that serves coastal cuisine. So, you’ll want to plan to have an early dinner following an afternoon of shopping.
