Galleria Dallas recently opened a Girl Scouts exhibit, just in time for the annual Cookie Program
Galleria Dallas has partnered with the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas to create an exhibit honoring the organization’s 113-year history.
Every year from January until April, the Girl Scout Cookie Program is held across the country. Over one million Girl Scouts in over 236,000 troops participate, and this year’s program will be particularly special for the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas. An exhibit highlighting the importance of the organization and its impact on local communities, as well as the children who participate in the troops, recently opened at Galleria Dallas.
Galleria partnered directly with the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas to create the exhibit, titled “Strong Girls. Strong Communities.” to pay tribute to the organization’s 113-year history. In addition to featuring images along the Gallery Wall located in the center of Galleria, information is included detailing the mounting stressors facing young girls today and how the Girl Scouts are helping combat “declining self-perceptions.” Other highlights of the display include how the organization encourages friendship, builds life skills, and instills confidence in its scouts.
Troops from Dallas, Plano, Richardson, Garland, and several other nearby towns will be selling cookies outside of the “Strong Girls” exhibit on select days. The CEO of Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, Jennifer Bartkowski, spoke of the exhibit’s significance. “Many people equate Girl Scouts with cookie sales, which is an important part of our program — but Girl Scouts is so much more than that. It helps girls discover their strengths, rise to challenges and make the world a better place,” she said.
Details about the exhibit and cookie sales
According to Plano Magazine, the “Strong Girls. Strong Communities.” exhibit—which is free to view—is on display now through February 28 and can be found on Level One of Galleria Dallas, across from the Sephora store. The Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas will be selling cookies on Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. and Sundays between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. beginning January 31. Cookie sales will be held on those dates and times until March 1.
Additionally, Galleria Dallas will be hosting a Girl Scout Skate Day on Sunday, March 8 to celebrate the end of the Cookie Program’s 2026 season. That event is scheduled from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m., and tickets cost $13 per person to attend. Girl Scouts who are wearing their uniforms or similar Girl Scout apparel will be given free skate rentals and a special patch for attending. Five Guys is donating 20% of every purchase made that day until 5 p.m. to the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas.
