The Cowtown Visitor Shuttle will run on non-match days during the FIFA World Cup. Here’s what you need to know.
For visitors traveling to North Texas for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, trying to figure out what to do on the tournament’s off days just got a little easier thanks to Trinity Metro. From June 15 through July 12, Trinity Metro is offering a new service dubbed the Cowtown Visitor Shuttle.
A release announcing the service said, “As part of a new, limited-time service created for this time period, Cowtown Visitor Shuttle motorcoaches will provide convenient connections between Fort Worth and Arlington, linking visitors to some of North Texas’ most popular destinations.”
So, what are the most popular destinations in North Texas? Well, the premium motorcoach will ferry visitors to several stops throughout Fort Worth, Arlington, and Tarrant County, including:
- Fort Worth Botanical Garden
- Fort Worth’s Buc-ee’s
- Fort Worth Zoo
- North Fort Worth’s Tanger Outlets
- Arlington’s Texas Live!
- Six Flags in Arlington
According to Fox 4, all-day passes for the Cowtown Visitor Shuttle will cost around $10. Connections to the Trinity Railway Express, Trinity Metro bus routes, and the TEXRail are also included in that daily fee.
Buses to Buc-ee’s and the Tanger Outlets are scheduled to depart every 30 minutes from Fort Worth Central station starting at 10 a.m. on non-match days. Routes to the Fort Worth Zoo and Fort Worth Botanical Garden will also depart every 30 minutes. All routes will continue running into the evening hours, though it’s unclear as to what time they’ll officially stop each day.
Trinity Metro is offering several continuous services throughout the tournament
In addition to the Cowtown Visitor Shuttle offered on non-match days, Trinity Metro has been beefing up its efforts to ensure public transportation is running smoothly and often during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Trinity Railway Express has been expanded to accommodate visitors traveling between Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington, to help people get safely from the airport to their hotel to World Cup events and anywhere else they may want to go while they’re here.
40 charter buses have also been added into the public transit system’s rotation. Trinity Metro’s chief strategy officer, Anette Landeros, told the Fort Worth Report that they’ve done their best to ensure everything runs as seamlessly as it possibly can, all things considered. “We’ve been preparing for about a year and a half now. But we have recognized that we don’t know what we don’t know, and we don’t know that until we get started.”
Landeros added, “We’re all reminding each other to be prepared to learn on the go and to pivot and make adjustments as needed when we find out what kind of crowds we can actually anticipate — We’re ready to be flexible and adjust to the needs of the community.”
If you’re attending an upcoming match at Dallas Stadium, taking a Trinity Railway Express (TRE) train from Fort Worth Central Station is one of the easiest ways of getting there. The official Trinity Metro website notes the following details:
- These trains start running approximately four to six hours before the match’s scheduled kickoff time
- Trails will travel east to CentrePort Station, which is the closest rail station to Dallas Stadium
- Once you arrive at CentrePort Station, you may board the Stadium Shuttle by showing an official game ticket to the employee on duty
Returning to your accommodations after the match should be equally easy, as you’ll get back on the Stadium Shuttle to CentrePort Station. Once you’re there, board the correct TRE train back to Fort Worth. Please note the following instructions as you complete this trip:
- Shuttles are available for up to two hours after the conclusion of the match
- TRE will operate under extended hours on days with late-night games—the final train will depart CentrePort Station three hours after the match is over
- When you’re at the station, please be sure to follow signs the signs stating “To Fort Worth” trains
Additional information, including how much each trip will cost, can be found here. Good luck and God speed.
