Nevada gets in on the Fourth of July action as America celebrates its Semiquincentennial.
The Fourth of July is always a big deal in Nevada, but this year marks the United States’ Semiquincentennial, making it especially momentous.
Celebrations throughout the state will mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the US Declaration of Independence.
From parties, podcasts, and parades to concerts, historical reenactments, and fireworks, here’s how Nevada is celebrating America’s 250th birthday.
Reno
Patriotic Pops
Independence Day kicks off one day early at the ballpark in Reno with Reno Philharmonic’s Patriotic Pops at the Field on July 3.
This musical tribute to American heritage at Great Nevada Field starts at 6:30 p.m. with opening tunes, followed by a concert at 8 p.m., led by conductor Jason Altieri. Family-friendly activities include face painting, magicians, and a food-eating contest. Cost is $15 for kids, $25 for adults.
The 4th on Fourth Parade
America 250: The 4th on Fourth July 4 parade starts at 10 a.m. on Fourth Street from Vine to West Streets, featuring bands, floats, military and cultural tributes. This community-wide parade is an annual tradition in the Biggest Little City.
4th of July Drone Show
The Reno Philharmonic will headline the 2026 Fourth of July Drone Show, starting at 6 p.m. on July 4 at Mackay Stadium at the University of Nevada. The interactive expo, drone show, and concert are free, but a ticket reservation is needed.
America 250 Baseball
Greater Nevada Field hosts an America 250 baseball celebration on July 4 with an all-star game featuring the California Collegiate League (CCL) All-Stars, pre-game activities, and the biggest fireworks show of the year after the game.
Sparks
Star Spangled Sparks
Spark’s annual Fourth of July celebration, Star Spangled Sparks, will light the town with family fun, food, a festival, and fireworks.
More than 50,000 people are expected for a star-bangled block party at Victorian Square, starting at 4 p.m. Mingle and enjoy local food, drink, retail, and artisan vendors, live entertainment, and all ages fun throughout Downtown Sparks. The Nugget Casino Resort shoots off fireworks around 9:30 p.m.

Downtown Sparks Patriot Walk
If you’re age 21 or older, check out the Downtown Sparks Patriot Walk, the perfect chance to hang out in local bars, try local restaurants, and patronize small businesses in Downtown Sparks with the added perk of patriotic specials, offers, entertainment, and activities. The walk builds up to an after-party at Karma Lounge, from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Sharing the Spirit of America
Nevada joins other states across the US to take part in a simultaneous reading of the Declaration of Independence at Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza on the Sparks Marina on July 8 from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Carson City
Freedom Cruise and Soap Box Derby
Break out your best red, white, and blue decorations and deck out your car for the 4th of July Freedom Cruise. Prepare to see all sorts of patriotic decorations, flags, and displays to mark America’s 250th birthday. The best cars win prizes.
According to Carson Now, the car procession will begin at 11 a.m., after the public Liberty Bell Ceremony at the Nevada State Museum, which includes a posting of colors and a reading of the Declaration of Independence.
Kids, ages 6 to 12, will build and race gravity-powered cars at 2 p.m. in the Fandango Galaxy Movie Theater Parking Lot as part of the city’s Fourth of July celebrations. Top finishers win prizes.
Star-Spangled Steam Up
Hop aboard a train, play games, eat, and socialize during the Star-Spangled Steam Up at the Nevada Railroad Museum, July 3 to 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Enjoy fun and educational activities, music, tours, food trucks, and the chance to ride historic steam trains, including Locomotive No. 25, Glenbrook, and McKeen Motor Car. Cost is $25 for adults, $15 for children.
Stars, Stripes, Steps, and Stories
Join the Carson City Historical Society for a leisurely guided walking tour through Carson City’s historic westside on July 3 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. You’ll begin at the Nevada State Museum and stop by historic homes, including the Nevada Governor’s Mansion, before ending up at the Abraham Curry House for refreshments.
Declaration of Independence Reading
The Battle Born Patriots Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, will re-enact the reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Nevada State Museum on July 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Afterward, the public can ring the Liberty Bell.
Minden
Fourth of July BBQ
Minden in the Carson Valley is hosting a Fourth of July Celebration and BBQ from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Minden Park. This family-friendly event will include free hamburgers and hot dogs, popsicles, balloon creations, bounce houses, and a kids’ bike parade around the park.
Genoa
Americana Celebration
Head to the charming town of Genoa for the annual Americana Celebration at the Town Hall and Mormon Station State Historic Park, July 3 at 5 p.m. through July 4 at 10 p.m.
Celebrating both America’s 250th anniversary and the town’s 175th birthday, the celebration starts July 3 with a Chautauqua-style performance, featuring Genoa’s historical figures.
On July 4, there will be live music, face painting, children’s water games, free visits to the Genoa Courthouse Museum, a children’s and pet parade, a concert by the Carson City Symphony, and a large community birthday cake.
Virginia City
Parade and Fireworks
Spend the day in Virginia City with a 4th of July Parade at noon, train rides on the V&T Railroad, and fireworks at dusk. Enjoy a free concert from David John and the Comstock Cowboys before the fireworks.
Lake Tahoe
Lights on the Lake
A nationally recognized Fourth of July event, Lights on the Lake at South Lake Tahoe, will again fill the air with American spirit. Viewing locations on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe include Zephyr Cove, Incline Beach, and Nevada Beach. The explosive show begins at 9:45 p.m. and is simulcast on local radio station KRLT-FM 93.9.
Las Vegas
32nd Annual Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade
Southern Nevada’s official America250 Nevada event, the Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade, “United We Celebrate 250,” features multiple entries, including veteran and military groups, professional sports teams, patriotic and pop-culture floats, and diverse performances.
A 30-foot Liberty Bell, a 40-foot American Eagle, a towering American flag, a 30-foot birthday cake, and a 25-foot Uncle Sam hat are among the more than 20 giant inflatable balloons that will float above the parade, which begins at the corner of Hillpointe Rd. and Hills Center Dr. in The Trails village of Summerlin, and ends near the corner of Trailwood Drive and Spring Gate Lane.
Viewers can start setting up blankets and chairs to reserve a viewing area at 7 a.m. on July 3. The parade is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the parade website.

Blast Off In The Basin
Celebrate the country’s 250th with your whole family at Buckskin Basin Park, 7350 Buckskin Ave., starting at 7 p.m. The party will include live DJs, food trucks, and an aerial display of fireworks and drones around 9:15 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring low-back chairs, blankets, and water. Patriotic music is simulcast with the fireworks show on Sunny 106.5 FM.
Additional viewing areas for the display, with trivia, music, prizes, and food trucks, include: Wayne Bunker Family Park, 7351 W. Alexander Road; Children’s Memorial Park, 6601 W. Gowan Road; and Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex, 7353 Eugene Ave.
Fourth of July Fireworks
Multiple casino resorts in Las Vegas and Henderson will shoot off a coordinated Fourth of July fireworks show at 9 p.m., including Caesars Palace, Treasure Island, The Venetian, MGM Grand, Aria, Planet Hollywood, Resorts World, Fontainebleau, The Strat, Durango, Red Rock, and Green Valley Ranch.

Boulder City
Damboree Celebration
Kicking off with a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. and culminating in fireworks after dark, the Damboree Celebration is an annual Independence Day event in Boulder City. A flyover marks the beginning of the parade at 9 a.m., which runs along Colorado Street to Broadbent Park, by the Boulder City Pool. In addition to swimming and pool activities, there will be local vendors, games, food, and a beer wagon.
At 4 p.m., the party moves to Veteran Memorial Park. Festivities conclude with a fireworks show, accompanied by music from DJ Mike Pacini.

Hoover Dam flag and illumination
One of the country’s most iconic landmarks and a local gem, Hoover Dam is marking America’s 250th with a dramatic red, white, and blue illumination and a massive American flag installation.
At 300 feet wide by 150 feet tall, the flag is the size of an American football field. Previously used at Las Vegas Raiders football games, it weighs approximately 2,000 pounds and remains illuminated with more than 550 automated LED lights every evening through July 4.
