Celebrate German culture, including its unique beer and cuisine, by attending a 2026 Oktoberfest celebration in Virginia.

Although Oktoberfest started in Munich, Germany, in 1810 as a celebration of a royal wedding, it has since become a global celebration of German culture, cuisine, and beer. Importantly, it’s accessible to all, no matter if they’re German or not.

In Virginia this year, a number of Oktoberfest events are slated for mid-September through late October. Ranging from small-scale brewery get-togethers to massive downtown festivals, here are the 2026 Oktoberfest celebrations worth attending this year in Virginia.
