Cultural celebration brings the community together

The eagerly anticipated celebration will transform Sammons Park into a bustling cultural hub on May 10, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Visitors can explore a dynamic mix of activities, including authentic food tastings, artistic performances, and a diverse vendor marketplace designed to engage people of all ages.

Unique culinary passport experience

A highlight of this year’s event is the innovative Culinary Passport Activity, offering attendees the chance to explore six distinct Asian cuisines. Participants will sample traditional snacks from Armenia, China, India, Korea, Thailand, and Turkey while learning about the cultural meaning behind each dish. Those who complete their culinary journey will be entered into a prize raffle.

Building community connections

Danny Young, Manager of the Office of Community Affairs at the Dallas Police Department, emphasized the event’s importance beyond celebration: “The Dallas Police Office of Community Affairs looks forward to engaging with the Asian Community, in order to strengthen relationships and reinforce our commitment to public safety within the community. This event, while fun and a celebration of AAPI heritage, is essential to building further trust and partnerships,” he said of the community.

The celebration will be held at Sammons Park. For additional information, go to the City of Dallas website. And to secure your spot in advance, visit the AT&T Performing Art Center website to RSVP.
