Don’t miss these 6 fall festivals & events in Nevada

The start of fall is just around the corner on September 22. Don’t miss these events in Nevada that will give you all the autumnal feels.

Fall is the best time of year to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Temperatures cool off ever so slightly, and a host of autumnal-themed events crop up around the state to provide a scenic backdrop for the picture-perfect day with your loved ones. These fall festivals in Nevada encompass all of the best things the season has to offer: pumpkin-flavored food and drinks, fun games, arts & crafts, live music, motorcycles, and, in some cases, free admission.

The first day of fall (AKA, the Autumn Equinox) lands on September 22, and each of the following events takes place in the weeks after the official change of the season. As a bonus, there’s even a Halloween celebration for those of you who, like me, enjoy the spookier side of life. So, break out your best lightweight jacket and get ready for your next epic adventure!

Pahrump Fall Festival, September 25-28

Pahrump’s Fall Festival includes free admission, though a fee must be paid for unlimited carnival ride bracelets, or if you’d like to attend the rodeo. Ticket sale information hasn’t been provided as of writing, but you can click here to check for updates over the next few weeks.

This four-day event includes festival rides like a Ferris wheel and rollercoaster, a parade, arts & crafts, carnival games, and an impressive array of food and drink vendors. There’s also a horseshoe tournament, a cornhole tournament, and a car show. You can check the tentative schedule for those here.

The festival kicks off on Thursday at 5 p.m. and goes until 10 p.m. that night. It runs from 12 p.m. until midnight on Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Street Vibrations Fall Rally, September 25-28, Reno

Reno’s Street Vibrations Fall Rally takes place at the J Resort located at 345 N. Arlington Avenue. Upwards of 35,000 bikers are expected to attend the multi-day festival. There will be live entertainment and music on two separate outdoor stages, along with organized rides, slow bike races, vendor booths featuring food, apparel, and crafts, and poker runs to both Virginia City and Lake Tahoe. The annual event is free to attend, though VIP motorcycle packages are available for those interested in enhancing their experience.

Lattin Farms Fall Festival, September 27-October 25 – Fallon

The Lattin Farms Fall Festival in Fallon is one of the most popular seasonal events in Nevada. It’s held on Fridays and Saturdays beginning on September 27, with the last days of celebration scheduled for the weekend of October 25. The Lattin family has been operating the farm for more than 100 years, and each fall season they host an array of exciting activities for people of all ages to enjoy.

There’s the Crafters Market, which features numerous local makers selling their unique goods. There’s also the Scarecrow Factory, where you can build your own scarecrow, the Pumpkin Tower Lighting, a costume contest, hay wagon rides, the largest corn maze in Nevada, and much, much more. Hauntober in Virginia City, October 1-31

As far as I’m concerned, spooky season lasts all year, but it’s especially joyful being able to celebrate Halloween for the entire month of October. That’s why Virginia City sounds like the perfect place to me! Hauntober on the Comstock features several notable events, including the 21+ “The Spirits Made Me Do It Saloon Crawl,” Virginia City cemetery tours, and family-friendly “Bats in the Belfry Guided Ghost Tours.” Tickets for the individual events and tours can be found here.

In terms of Hauntober itself, there’s a Victorian ball, pumpkin patch trains, trick-or-treating, and a costume parade, to name a select few offerings. Plus, Virginia City is considered the most haunted place in Nevada, which adds another layer of atmosphere to the monthlong festival.

Elko Pumpkin Festival, October 11 – Lamoille

The Elko Pumpkin Festival takes place at the Lamoille Grove and Lamoille Women’s Club yard, and admission is free for visitors of all ages. This event really is the epitome of all things fall, as it centers around the season’s most beloved gourd: the pumpkin. You and your family can pick your own pumpkins at the pumpkin patch, sample food from a variety of food trucks, try your hand at some themed crafts, and buy unique gifts at the large assortment of vendors expected to be in attendance.

The Pumpkin Festival starts at 10 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. Since there’s no admission fee, it’s probably a good idea to get there early to secure your parking spot before it gets too crowded.

Northern Nevada Fall Fest, November 1- Carson City

Carson City’s Northern Nevada Fall Fest is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Arlington Square Parking Lot located at 507 N Carson Street. The 10th annual event features food trucks and booths selling ice cream, kettle corn, alcohol, candy, and more. There will be raffles, artisans, crafters, and shopping as well. Approximately 30,000 people are expected to visit Carson City that day for Nevada Day, so definitely make sure you get down there early to enjoy the full experience!
