The expansions come at a time when Genesee County has seen a 73% growth in the plumbing, heating, and air-conditioning industry over the past decade.

“Today, I’m excited to announce two Burton, Michigan companies are expanding their operations in our state, creating 150 good-paying jobs in Genesee County,” Governor Whitmer said in a press release. “I remain committed to making sure that anyone can make it in Michigan.”

Custom Air Handling Solutions invests in new facility

Custom Air Handling Solutions is investing $5.275 million in a new 50,000-square-foot facility to meet growing customer demand. The expansion will create 68 new positions with starting wages of $25 per hour plus benefits, surpassing the regional median wage by more than $4.

Fluid Cooling Systems plans to invest over $2.5 million in facility updates and new equipment, creating 82 new jobs with $22 per hour starting wages plus benefits. The Burton-based company, which started in 2011, has earned recognition on Inc.’s 2025 list of 139 Companies Making an Outsized Impact in the Midwest.
