Nothing but Net! Gianna, Natalia & Milania Jordan Score Scholarships at Texas Tech
The Jordan sisters have been dominating high school basketball together for years. Now, three of the four will attend Texas Tech.
The Jordan sisters have been taking the Dallas basketball world by storm over the last few years. Now, three of the four will embark on a new journey together at Texas Tech University. In a history-making moment, Gianna, Natalia, and Milania Jordan all received basketball scholarships from the university and have officially signed on to join its team.
Walsh Jordan, their father, spoke with WFAA about the significant moment, saying that it’s difficult to verify whether this really is the first time something like this has happened—where three sisters all received scholarships to the same university at the same time—but that appears to be the case. He said that he and his wife were thrilled by Texas Tech’s offer, and one of their daughters chimed in to say that, “This hasn’t been done in history, so I’m glad I’m doing it with them [my sisters].”
Milania, Natalia, and Gianna have been playing basketball together at Southlake Sr. High School for years. They, along with their sister Nadia (who is currently enrolled at Kingdom Collegiate), are well known in the DFW area for their dedicated work ethic and physical prowess on the court. “We have the chemistry nobody else has. We’ve been doing it since such a young age,” one sister told WFAA. Bringing that chemistry to Texas Tech’s Lady Raiders was, ultimately, a no-brainer for the trio.
Their mother, Tierny Jordan, spoke with the news outlet about her daughters’ decision, saying, “We came here for the girls to have a feel of family, and that’s what we feel at Texas Tech.” One of the girls added, “Right when we stepped on campus, it felt like home.” The decision to all attend the same college will also make things extremely easy on their parents. “We’re helping them. We’re making them sit in one gym and watch all of us. We’re helping them,” another sister joked.
Before making headlines for their commitment to Texas Tech, all four Jordan sisters gained media traction in recent years (which included an appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show“) for their undeniable talent.
Nadia, Milania, Gianna, and Natalia all attended Southlake Sr. High School
Milania, Gianna, Natalia, and Nadia Jordan were praised by Southlake Sr. High School’s head coach, Robyn McCoart, during a 2024 profile of the sisters for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “They’re great about having high expectations for each other,” McCoart told the outlet. “They hold each other to a high standard because they know what each other is capable of.” Those high standards allowed the girls to motivate themselves to achieve greatness. They’ve also set an example, alongside their teammates, by helping to create an atmosphere with “zero locker room drama.”
The sisters have been playing together for their entire lives and have developed a “sixth sense” on the court. They instinctively know when someone is open to receive a pass or when one of them needs to take the game-winning shot. Gianna told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram in 2024 that, “If we have each other’s back, then nobody can really stop us.” It’s a theme in their lives that’s now set to continue at Texas Tech University, where their sense of camaraderie (and general lack of arguing) will benefit them and their new team.
The exciting decision to embark on a college basketball career together can be best summed up by a quote from one of the girls: “I’m automatically gonna have friends when I go to college — my best friends,” she told WFAA. And what could be better than that?
