Pennsylvania’s New Fall Campaign Targets Leaf Peepers & Ghost Hunters
Learn all about Pennsylvania’s new tourism campaign, “It’s Fall-ier in Pennsylvania.”
The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has announced a new tourism campaign cleverly titled “It’s Fall-ier in Pennsylvania.” The initiative aims to establish Pennsylvania as a premier autumn travel destination, promoting its exceptional fall foliage, historical haunts, and seasonal treats. It’s part of the broader “Visit PA” initiative, which seeks to boost regional tourism and highlight the state’s unique fall offerings.
About the campaign
According to Anne Ryan, DCED Deputy Secretary of Tourism, fall travel significantly contributes to Pennsylvania’s $76.7 billion tourism industry. The campaign targets millions of potential visitors within a four-hour drive, urging them to plan fall getaways in the state.
A new 30-second television advertisement, featuring vibrant fall imagery filmed primarily at Shady Brook Farm in Bucks County, will serve as the campaign’s focal point. The campaign’s media strategy includes digital and social media promotions. You can watch the ad here.
Additionally, the “It’s Fall-ier Swagon,” a mobile experiential tour, will visit cities such as New York, Baltimore, and Washington D.C. The tour aims to provide an immersive fall experience, complete with Pennsylvania-themed treats, foliage updates, and a photo booth offering a chance to win fall-themed prizes and overnight stays in Pennsylvania.
The campaign will also feature a Ghostly Getaway contest, offering a haunted hotel experience at the Guild House Hotel in Philadelphia. The contest challenges participants to prove their bravery for a chance to win a stay in a transformed, spooky room in this historic National Historic Landmark hotel.
Other activities include an Ultimate Fall Bucket List on social media, Pennsylvania-themed pumpkin stencils, and surprise fall getaways in collaboration with the travel agency Pack Up + Go.
