The 10 most dazzling Dallas-Fort Worth holiday lights displays

Bring the kids to see these 10 dazzling light displays around DFW this holiday season.

Sipping hot cocoa, blaring holiday music, and driving around looking at Christmas lights has been my favorite winter tradition since I was a kid. There’s nothing better than enjoying twinkling lights this time of year! While festive neighborhood decorations are always fun to see, if you really want to be impressed, check out one of these amazing holiday light events around Dallas-Fort Worth.

Millions of lights are set up to dazzle and delight. Walk, drive, or ride on a horse-drawn carriage through these holiday lights for a truly magical experience. It’s guaranteed to create core memories for your family!

Here are 10 of our favorite attractions.

1. Prairie Lights

Location: 5610 Lake Ridge Pkwy, Grand Prairie

Dates: Nov. 27-Dec. 31

Price: Starting at $50 per car

Colorful lights dazzle all around you as you drive through the Prairie Lights experience this holiday season. Four million twinkling lights are on display along two miles of path at this experience, plus hundreds of new displays along (and above!) the roads.

It’s not just a drive-through, though. Exit your car at the halfway point for carnival rides (included with the cost of entry), as well as a magical walk-through forest, holiday shopping, concessions, and photos with Santa. Afterward, get back in your car for an LED light tunnel that ends your evening on a magical note.

2. Vitruvian Lights

Location: 3966 Vitruvian Way, Addison

Dates: Through Jan. 1, 2026

Price: Free

At Vitruvian Lights, you can stroll through the gorgeous trees all lit up for the holiday. Located inside Vitruvian Park, you can take your time walking across the trail and among the glowing trees. We usually bring our dog on a leash and let our kids run around the winter wonderland here.

Dec. 6, 13, and 20 are Bite Nights at Vitruvian Lights, where the food trucks will be on site offering delicious cuisine to try while you enjoy the view.

3. Deerfield Park Carriage Rides

Location: 4501 Legacy Drive, Plano

Dates: Through Dec. 31

Price: Starting at $205

Although driving through the Plano neighborhood of Deerfield Park is free, if you want to make the experience even more unforgettable (and avoid the traffic!), then you can book a carriage ride instead.

Horse-drawn carriage rides by Northstar Carriage make the evening feel like something straight out of a Hallmark movie. Bring blankets and drinks and cuddle up with a date to listen to Christmas music in the open-air ride.

4. Christmas in the Garden at Fort Worth Botanic Garden

Location: 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd, Fort Worth

Dates: Through Jan. 4, 2026

Price: Starting at $20

Even the North Pole itself isn’t as dazzling as the Fort Worth Botanic Garden’s Christmas in the Garden. Walk through lit-up stars, pose next to decorated cactuses, or admire the trees wrapped in colorful lights. There is a Candy Cane Tunnel, a Christmas tree show, and a Rainbow Path to enjoy.

While appreciating the thousands of lights on this one-mile trail, you can also buy seasonal treats, take pictures with Santa, and take tons of photos. It’s a beautiful event full of enchanting moments.

5. Zoo Lights at Dallas Zoo

Location: 650 S. R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas

Dates: Through Jan. 4, 2026

Price: Starting at $18

There’s nothing wilder than the holidays at Dallas Zoo! Over two million lights illuminate the zoo, from glowing animal-shaped lanterns to twinkling strings of light; it’s an unforgettable experience. My kids love running around the zoo after dark to see it transformed into a holiday extravaganza.

Holiday igloos, which are new this year, are available to rent for an additional cost. You and up to six guests can relax inside a cozy hideaway to admire the lights and your own yummy treats.

6. Christmas in the Square

Location: 8843 Coleman Blvd, Frisco

Dates: Through Jan. 5, 2026

Price: Free entry, activities may have additional cost

Bells are jingling, children are singing, and lights are brilliantly glowing at Frisco Square. The popular Christmas in the Square event features the largest choreographed holiday light show in North Texas, with over 180,000 lights, 200 dancing snowflakes, and 10 miles of wiring.

The light show may be the main attraction, but it’s not the only thing to do here. Go ice skating, ride on a horse-drawn carriage, visit with Santa, walk through the light tunnel, and more for an extra cost. (Or just enjoy the beautiful lights synchronized to music on foot or in your car.)

7. Astra Lumina

Location: 1800 Dowdy Ferry Road, Dallas

Dates: Through Dec. 31

Price: Starting at $24.72 for adults

Christmas lights are one thing, but nothing compares to the dazzling lights of the stars. Astra Lumina builds on that idea, creating a celestial experience in the night sky that will leave you wonderstruck.

This experience features nine themed areas with their own light installations, dazzling pathways lined with lights in between, and a synchronized original soundtrack inspired by the cosmos. From falling stars to astral genesis—and so much more—you’re sure to feel starry-eyed after a visit here.

8. Dallas Arboretum’s Holiday at Night

Location: 8526 Garland Road, Dallas

Dates: Through Jan. 4

Price: Starting at $35 ($20 for members)

It’s not Christmas for my family without a trip to the Dallas Arboretum for their Holiday at Night light display. Walking through the garden is akin to visiting a Christkindlmarket in Germany with its European-inspired Christmas Village that includes a scavenger hunt for the kids and shops for adults. We love collecting their hand-crafted ornaments here.

This year, the garden is introducing a brand-new experience called Night Glow. It features light installations curated by artists to create the perfect blend of “botanical beauty with luminous creativity.” Stunning light displays illuminate the buildings throughout the garden.

Other can’t-miss highlights include the 12 Days of Christmas gazebos throughout the Arboretum and the 23-foot-tall German Christmas pyramid with 22 hand-carved figurines.

9. Lights on the Farm

Location: 1900 West 15th Street, Plano

Dates: Nov. 28-Dec. 28

Price: Starting at $15

The Heritage Farmstead Museum is lighting up its four-acre site with over two million twinkling lights. From sparkling Christmas trees to glowing light tunnels, there are so many cool things to see, experience, and photograph.

Stay warm with all the hot cocoa, s’mores, donuts, and popcorn your heart desires while listening to holiday music. And if you come on select nights, you can meet your kids’ favorite characters, including princesses and Jedi masters. Of course, Santa will be there too! (Select events are an additional price.)

10. The Light Park

Location: 1800 E Lamar Blvd, Arlington; 7300 Rough Riders Trail, Frisco; 701 W Eldorado Pkwy, Little Elm

Price: Starting at $39.99 per vehicle

Stay inside your car to experience The Light Park, filled with millions of LED lights synchronized to holiday music. The mile-long light experience includes drive-through tunnels, massive installations, and festive displays filled with your kids’ favorite characters.

To add a little more magic to the night, you can purchase light-up glasses and wands to be part of the fun, plus snacks and refreshments to enjoy during the drive. It’s like the classic, driving-through-your-neighborhood fun, but on a professional level.
