Animal lovers, we just found your new paradise in DFW: cat cafés!
Think Starbucks, but you’re meeting the cutest crew of cats for a drink instead of human friends. Cat cafés are less a snacky destination and more a place to destress with delightful cats—who just so happen to be open for adoption. Go in for a coffee and come home with a new furry family member!
Dallas has been known for its huge growth in pet adoptions in recent years, so it’s no surprise that the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex has five cat cafés. These serve as calming environments to get to know cats or just relax after work surrounded by your favorite animal.
You might find cats hiding underneath chairs, climbing cat trees, or crawling on your lap at a cat café. This is way less stressful than an overcrowded shelter or adoption event—for you and the cats! Plus, it makes for a fun date or a soothing activity that’s cheaper than a spa visit.
Keep in mind that cat cafes do not allow guests to bring their own cats to socialize; they are strictly places to meet and play with rescue felines. Many also have rules on bringing kids and what you are allowed to do with the cats (such as never picking them up), so make sure to check before you go.

1. The Cozy Catfe
Location: 740 Southwest Green Oaks Boulevard, Suite 200, Arlington
Cost: $13 per person for entry; adoption fees start at $100
The Cozy Catfe boasts an unofficial “kitty therapy” experience—and we are instantly intrigued! Guests will be surrounded by beautiful and adoptable cats during their visit, where they can play, pet, and admire the sweet kitties.
For an even more special experience, visit during one of their many exciting events. For example, the Rootin’ Tootin’ Paint Pawty on Sept. 5, where you can paint Western pictures of cats, and a book signing of “Grammie Cat’s Christmas” by Anne Bressert on Sept. 12. They also host kitty yoga, junk journaling with cats, and many other paw-some activities.
Of course, the goal of cat cafes is to help rescued cats get adopted into loving families (you can see all the pretty available cats online). Through its nonprofit organization, Cozy Catfe Rescue, Cozy Catfe has helped find homes for over 500 cats. Even if you aren’t planning on adopting, every purchase helps support this incredible mission.
2. Whiskers and Soda Cat Café
Location: 10320 Garland Road, Dallas
Cost: $16 per person for entry; memberships starting at $5 per month
You don’t need a reason to visit Whiskers and Soda Cat Café. Simply show up and pet adorable cats after a long day at work or just anytime you want to hang out with furry felines. It’s like a shot of serotonin directly to the heart!
Pet and play with the cats—the ones who aren’t sleeping or hiding, of course—in the cute, cat-friendly environment. At the café, there are also caffeine drinks and yummy treats available for humans to enjoy during your visit.
The social spot partners with the rescue group A Voice for All Paws to help match cats with their future human family members. In addition to adopting a cute cat (be sure to browse available cats beforehand online!), you can support cat rescue by signing up for a membership. This gives you access to exclusive events and visit time reservations before the general population.
3. The Charming Cat Corner
Location: Inside The Vista Mall, 2401 South Stemmons Freeway Suite 1306, Lewisville
Cost: Entry starts at $14 per person; subscriptions begin at $45 per month
First and foremost, the Charming Cat Corner (formerly Charming Cat Café) is a cat lounge, where rescued kitties invite human guests to come in and visit in their space. The Charming Cat Corner rescues cats through the nonprofit organization Kitty Save—drool over the cute adoptable cats here!—and lets people meet them in a place where they feel most relaxed.
Each room is unique, with themes inspired by “Game of Thrones,” a medieval gothic aesthetic, a tropical rainforest, and other areas designed for cats’ comfort and specific needs. How cool is that?
Located inside the mall, the Charming Cat Corner is unique in that you don’t have to make advanced reservations. Just take a break from shopping to snuggle with some adorable felines—and maybe find a new addition to your family!
4. The Casual Cat Café
Location: 7264 Glenview Drive, Richland Hills
Cost: $15 per person for entry; memberships start at $25 per month
Grab a soda and a snack, then cuddle with all the sweet cats at the Casual Cat Café. This is a great place to unwind and socialize with pretty kitties—all looking to find a human family to go home with! (You can see the cats’ adorable faces online.)
Casual Cat Café partners with local rescues and shelters to provide rescue cats, so adoption processes and fees may differ for each cat. However, you don’t have to be looking to welcome a new cat into your life to visit the Casual Cat Café. Anyone can come play, pet, and cuddle the cat residents.
If you just want some time with the tiniest kitties, you can reserve a time to play with the ones still too young to be adopted (it’s good for the soul!). Before you leave, shop for the cutest meow-chandise, with tons of cat-themed products to take home, including shirts, stickers, and more, that support the cats in need.
5. The Bubble Cat Café
Location: 3305 South Mayhill Road, Suite 114, Denton
Cost: Entry starts at $12 per person
Tons of toys, soft pink rugs, and cuddly places to sit abound at The Bubble Cat Café. It’s both relaxing for the cats and aesthetically pleasing for your Instagram grid!
The Bubble Cat Café, a queer-owned and women-owned space, opened its doors in June 2026, marking the first cat café in Denton. The organization has its own in-house rescue to provide adoptable cats, which you can see and learn more about online, and it is also a beautiful place to unwind.
This will quickly become your new favorite place to hang out, grab a refreshment, and take tons of photos with the cool cats who live here.
