Fort Worth was officially founded in 1849, earning the slogan “Where the West Begins.” While “Home of Charming Bed and Breakfasts” doesn’t have quite the same ring, it’s also an accurate depiction of the area.
The city has a rich history of longhorns, railroads, oil and gas, and memorable characters. You’ll see glimpses of Fort Worth’s past across its B&Bs — many of which have extensive histories themselves.

Rosen House Inn
1714 S. Henderson St., Ft Worth, Texas 76110; prices start at $109 per night
The best bed and breakfast locations are calm enough to give you time and space to unwind while also having entertainment and eateries nearby. Rosen House Inn seamlessly balances both characteristics. The inn, just a short walk away from several restaurants, breweries, distilleries, and live music, has more than 110 years of history and has survived at least two fires, coming back stronger each time. Beyond a tasty breakfast full of locally sourced ingredients, guests receive freshly baked cookies and can sample coffee, teas, and other refreshments throughout the day. Three Danes Inn

Located in Fort Worth’s Historic Southside, Three Danes Inn has seen a lot since it was built in 1904. Part of that history includes violent gunfire involving a saloon owner on the back porch. Aside from one bullet hole still lodged in part of the building, you’d never be able to tell — this inn is about as cozy and charming as they come. With five uniquely designed rooms, Three Danes Inn offers a quiet oasis near the bustling heart of Fort Worth. Stop by Three Danes Baking Company to sample Danish treats and enjoy a little “hygge” during your stay.
Miss Molly’s Hotel

If you prefer your B&Bs to feel a bit more risqué, Miss Molly’s is the place to be. The location, built around 1910, has transformed from a boarding house to a bordello and into a historic hotel, though many rooms retain similarities to when the hotel first opened. Each room sports a unique charm that nods at Fort Worth’s past, such as the Fort Worth Stockyards and railroads or the gunslingers of the Wild West. Country music star Lee Ann Womack also filmed a music video in “Opal Ann’s Room” at Miss Molly’s, though you’re not required to sing her songs should you choose to stay in that room.
Azalea Plantation
1400 Robinwood Dr., Fort Worth, TX 76111; prices start at $189 per night (minimum two nights stay)
Run by husband and wife Richard and Martha Linnartz and their son, Lance, Azalea Plantation combines the family’s passion for hospitality and antiques. Though the property has passed through a few different hands since the 1940s, the B&B has been in service for 30 years. Each room offers a distinct theme; for example, a floral arrangement adorns the Rose of Sharon accommodation, with flowers around the room, on the balcony, and a rosy surprise greeting guests on the bed. Azalea Plantation recently stopped serving breakfast, but good eats in Sundance Square are only a quick drive away. Guests can rent the whole property for larger gatherings like weddings, housing up to 24 people.
The Ashton Hotel
610 Main St, Fort Worth, TX 76102; prices start at $164 per night
The Ashton Hotel is technically a small luxury hotel, though it delivers plenty of historical intrigue. The hotel consists of two buildings. One used to be a law firm and saloon. The other served as the Fort Worth Club, where business deals and VIP meetings took place. Even with a recent renovation of the exterior and interior, The Ashton Hotel still possesses the homey feel of a smaller B&B. Indulge in relaxing afternoon tea or stroll to dozens of restaurants and bars within the area. Most rooms offer a “pure wellness” variety, which includes an in-room filter that removes up to 99.99% of pollutants and allergens.
Stockyards Hotel

A short trip from downtown Fort Worth and the city’s cultural district, the Stockyards Hotel is the closest thing to being transported back to the Old West. T.M. Thannisch purchased the property in 1904 to house a saloon and billiard parlor before expanding into accommodations. The historic property, which was renovated in the 1980s, pays homage to its beginnings with vintage furniture, wooden architecture, and classic photographs. Book the Celebrity Suite and you’ll get to rub elbows with folks like Tanya Tucker, Willie Nelson, and Nolan Ryan — or at least, you can rub elbows on armrests they’ve likely touched.
