Texas school districts are offering free lunch programs throughout the summer. Here’s where they’ll be serving up meals.

Summer is often a difficult time for families who rely on free school lunch programs. With the current cost of living, it can be hard to make ends meet and keep everyone well fed. Thankfully, several Texas school districts are providing nutritious breakfasts and lunches throughout the summer to help bridge this gap.

Meals will be provided free of charge to children of all ages and to all teenagers who are 18 years of age and younger. You do not need to present a school ID or register in advance to receive most of these meals—all you have to do is show up at specific locations during the designated free breakfast and lunch hours, which we’ll go over with you below.

McKinney ISD’s Student Nutrition District Manager, James Shoemake, put it best when he said, “Good nutrition shouldn’t take a summer break.” His district is providing meals through the SUN Meals program operated by the US Department of Agriculture. Shoemake added, “SUN Meals makes it easy for our community’s children to stay fueled and focused throughout the summer.”

Here’s where you can go to make sure your own children are fueled, focused, and fed all summer long:
