Where you should live in DFW, based on your zodiac sign

There’s a Dallas-Fort Worth neighborhood or city suited to each of the 12 zodiac signs. Find out which one is perfect for you!

Your next move was written in the stars. OK, maybe not literally. But if you follow your zodiac sign, certain personalities and traits will make one of these Dallas-Fort Worth cities and neighborhoods more desirable than others.

If you’re a creative Pisces, you might not fit in a quiet area; the same goes for reserved Cancers and places with a bustling nightlife. From famous areas like the Fort Worth Stock Yards to hidden gems like Historic Downtown Plano, there are plenty of places to live in DFW that are full of scenic views, amazing events and activities, awesome things to shop, eat, and do, and other perks.

Sure, you could pick your next place to live based on other factors like apartment amenities or school districts. Or, you could let the universe nudge you in a direction that might feel like it was made for you. It doesn’t hurt to look, right?

Aquarius: January 20 – February 18

Oak Lawn

Known for being innovative, passionate, and a bit eccentric, those with an Aquarius sign are independent and one-of-a-kind. Their perfect DFW neighborhood is Oak Lawn, situated just north of downtown Dallas. This area is known as one of the most gay-friendly neighborhoods in the country, with many LGBTQ+ events hosted throughout the year.

Oak Lawn has a diverse population, with a mix of young singles and longtime Dallasites. It has a bustling nightlife at several local bars, clubs, and even saloons for dancing and karaoke. There are also quieter streets and green spaces, like Turtle Creek Park.

Pisces: February 19 – March 20

Dallas Arts District

A dreamy, mystical, and romantic water sign, Pisces are creative and compassionate. There’s no better place for them than the Dallas Arts District, home to fantastic architecture, live music, and world-class events at Winspear Opera House, Meyerson Symphony Center, and Kyle Warren Park, among other places.

This walkable downtown area includes the expansive Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, and Perot Museum of Nature and Science. Beauty and imagination are everywhere to fuel a Pisces’ artistic spirit.

Aries: March 21 – April 19

Cultural District

Bold, courageous, determined, and a little bit selfish, Aries will have a blast at the Cultural District in Fort Worth. Aries are fiery, curious, and confident rams who will enjoy uncovering the many magical things in this area, like the impressive works in the Kimbell Art Museum, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. (Told you there were many surprises to be found!)

Living in the Cultural District, you’ll also be close to the stunning Noble Planetarium, the popular Fort Worth Zoo, and the cool Casa Mañana Theater. A confident, energetic sign like Aries will never get bored living here.

Taurus: April 20 – May 20

Highland Park

Slow and steady wins the race—and gets the shiny prize at the end. That’s how Taurus signs live their lives. They are reliable, patient, and appreciate the finer things in life. Highland Park checks all those boxes, with its small-town charm, wealthy homes, and walkable town.

Something dazzling shining in your eye? That must be the luxe goods at Highland Park Village, the first self-contained shopping center in America that houses designer retailers like Balmain, Dior, Cartier, and Hermès. This high-end area is exactly where the materialistic earth sign will feel at home.

Gemini: May 21 – June 20

Frisco

There’s no shortage of things to do in Frisco, making it ideal for an entertainment-seeking Gemini. This twin air sign has double the desires, passions, and hobbies as others, meaning they would do best in a place as exciting as Frisco.

Located 28 miles north of downtown Dallas, Frisco is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. It’s the home of professional sports teams, has more than 9 million square feet of retail space and 400 restaurants, and is full of arts and culture, including events, museums (like the National Videogame Museum!), a public art trail, and so much more.

Curious, playful, and energetic Geminis will love it here.

Cancer: June 21 – July 22

Historic Downtown Plano

Sensitive, intuitive, and gentle, Cancers enjoy creating a cozy home atmosphere. They are emotional and nurturing and will love living somewhere that reflects these family values like Historic Downtown Plano. Here, a rich history and modern amenities combine to create a special community.

Take the family to the free Interurban Railway Museum, enjoy a cultural event at Haggard Park, and spend the day wandering around antique shops, ice cream bars, and other shopping and dining options. The Heritage Farmstead Museum is nearby, where visitors can travel back to the 19th century to interact with farm animals.

There’s beauty in the simplicity.

Leo: July 23 – August 22

Stock Yards National Historic District

Leos are all full of confidence in their shiny, well-groomed manes, and these extroverted leaders need to live somewhere that can handle all their flashy fun. Enter: the Stock Yards National Historic District in Fort Worth, known as the only place in the world with a twice-daily cattle drive.

Hang out at the restaurants and retail space inside Mule Alley, go shopping for luxury Western wear and handmade boots, and check out the Stock Yards Championship Rodeo or Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo. This area is also home to Billy Bob’s Texas, the world’s largest honkey tonk with dancing, bars, and live country music. It’s almost as dazzling as Leos themselves.

Virgo: August 23 – September 22

Southlake

There are perfectionists, and then there are Virgos. Think of this star sign as people who pay attention to detail, work hard, and need things to be as close to perfect as possible. They are witty, logical, and excellent problem-solvers.

If you could hand-select the ideal city, it would be Southlake. The Town Square is like something out of a movie, with shopping, dining, and family-friendly events year-round. Southlake has public arts, outdoor concerts, the Bob Jones Nature Center & Preserve, and so much more, while being close to both Dallas and Fort Worth.

Virgos won’t be able to find anything wrong with this trendy city.

Libra: September 23 – October 22

East Dallas

Libras crave balance. They are social, captivating, and deep-thinking people who appreciate the finer things in life and can get lost in their own minds. Finding inspiration near their home is crucial for this sign, which is why living in East Dallas fits them so well.

Enjoy quiet time at one of the picturesque outdoor spots in East Dallas: White Rock Lake and the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden. The former has more than 1,015 acres of walking and biking trails and water for kayaking and paddle-boarding, while the arboretum has 11 gardens with seasonal displays and local events. The pretty Lake Highlands Park, interesting Bath House Cultural Center, and plenty of delicious food spots round out this cool neighborhood.

Scorpio: October 23 – November 21

Deep Ellum

Scorpios have a bad reputation as hot-headed, intense, and secretive, but they are also incredibly loyal and independent. This sign would do well in a city that is also sometimes overlooked, like Deep Ellum. This former warehouse district east of downtown Dallas has a rich history and deep cultural ties. In fact, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2023.

Admire the public street art, graffiti, and mural trail; release stress at an axe-throwing shop; visit a public speakeasy; and listen to live music at one of the intimate venues in the area. With plenty of unique restaurants and entertainment, you’re never short on fun in Deep Ellum.

Adventure might be your middle name if you are a Sagittarius. This energetic fire sign is free-spirited, optimistic, and full of life, much like the Sundance Square neighborhood in Fort Worth. This urban area has plenty of chic boutiques, historical western architecture, and whimsical outdoor areas to explore.

Must-see places near Sundance Square include the Fort Worth Water Gardens, the Sid Richardson Western Art Museum, and Bass Performance Hall. Afterward, unwind on a rooftop bar or inside a delicious restaurant or café.

With so much to do, you’ll enjoy every second of it.

Capricorn: December 22 – January 19

Arlington Heights

Success is not a matter of if, but when for Capricorns. Ambitious and hard-working, this earth sign would thrive in Arlington Heights, a neighborhood just 10 minutes from downtown Fort Worth. This beautiful, family-friendly area is close to many attractions, like Trinity Park, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, and the Fort Worth Botanic Garden.

There are also plenty of restaurants and shopping here. And when you have to go to work, Arlington Heights’ close proximity to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, multiple freeways, and the Trinity Metro bus line make it easy to get where you need to go.
