High-tech jobs open up with major aerospace expansion in Oakland County

On May 9, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) announced that Barron Industries, Inc. will expand its Industry 4.0 capabilities in Oxford, Michigan. A $9.1 million investment will see the aerospace and defense industry manufacturer creating 50 brand-new, high-tech jobs in the area.

Whitmer lauded the investment, stating that it affirms Michigan’s position as an ideal place for advanced manufacturing companies. The $9 million capital investment will not only advance Michigan’s technological front but will also generate jobs for the local population.

She also stressed the state’s focus on encouraging companies across all sectors to make investment decisions in favor of Michigan.

Barron Industries, Inc., a century-old, family-owned company, specializes in advanced metal castings for major manufacturers in the defense and aerospace industry.
