The North Texas Indie Bookstore Crawl runs from now until August 31. Here’s where to go and how to participate.
Book readers, your next big adventure awaits! The North Texas Bookstore Crawl is back for the second year in a row. Thirty-three independent bookstores across Fort Worth, Plano, Grapevine, Denton, McKinney, and more are participating in the event that runs between now and August 31.
All you need to do to enjoy the celebration is stop by as many of the bookstores as you’d like to browse their collections, support local businesses, hangout with members of your community, and maybe even find your new favorite book.
That’s not all, though. The Crawl features an exciting sidequest for those who want to enhance their experience. To join in the fun, swing by one of the bookstores and grab a passport (or download one online here), to collect unique stamps at each location.
Every stamp counts as one entry into a raffle organized by the Second Annual North Texas Bookstore Crawl, which features prizes and gift cards that have been donated by the indie bookstores.
Fully or partially completed passports can be submitted for raffle consideration by scanning the QR code found on its pages by August 31. You don’t have to buy anything at the bookstore to receive a stamp—all you need to do is visit the shop.
For those who do want to purchase something, special discounts and promotions are available in the passport for many of the participating bookstores.
North Texas Indie Bookstore Crawl locations
Katy Lemieux co-owns Talking Animals Books in Grapevine. The store organized last year’s first ever North Texas Indie Bookstore Crawl, and knew after seeing how successful the event was that it needed to be brought back in 2026.
As Lemieux said in a statement, “We were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm for last year’s inaugural Crawl. We chose August because it is relatively slow for sales at the end of summer, and we all saw huge increases in revenue during August 2025. Independent bookstores aren’t competitors, we’re truly collaborators.”
She added, “Every bookstore has its own personality, its own specialties and its own community,” making the event even more unique and memorable.
