Discover Yelp’s 10 best restaurants in Thornton, featuring everything from hearty breakfasts to authentic international cuisine.

I have a love-hate relationship with the internet. On one hand, I think it’s made me a little intellectually lazy. On the other, it lets me Google things like “the best restaurants in Thornton” and instantly find hundreds of Yelp reviews from people who’ve already done the hard work of trying different restaurants and menu items.

So, thanks, internet. And thanks to the strangers on Yelp who shared their opinions.

Here are the 10 best restaurants in Thornton, according to Yelp.

1. Yonsei

    Yelp Rating: 4.8

    Address: 3925 E 120th Ave, Thornton, CO 80233

    Price: $-$$

Most mentioned menu items: Spicy tuna roll, spicy edamame, kimchi fried rice.

Yonsei is a favorite among sushi-loving locals. It’s focused not only on serving delicious, healthy, fresh sushi, but also on providing an intimate and memorable experience.

For many, Yonsei is both a sushi oasis and a local gem. One Yelp reviewer wrote, “This might be the best place for sushi in Colorado (even better than some places in Cali). Prices are reasonable and the fish tastes fresh. You do not need to pay an arm and a leg for sushi in Colorado.” Another wrote, “After living in Japan for three years and moving back to the States, I’ve been trying to find a place with fresh sushi that tastes amazing. This was by far the best sushi spot I’ve had in a while.”

And they’re not the only ones who think so, which is why several reviewers suggest making a reservation. The space is intimate and fills up quickly, especially on weekends.

    2. El Azteca

      Yelp Rating: 3.8

      Address: 2683 E 120th Ave, Thornton, CO 80233

One thing that stands out to customers is the staff. One reviewer wrote, “The staff is always sweet—every single time we come in. You can tell this place is a labor of love and they actually care about the experience you have.” Another mentioned, “The service is fast and always super friendly! They are always so kind and helpful!”

When it comes to the food, customers consistently praise the generous portions. One Yelp reviewer says it best: “Good food and a great value, you will not go away hungry.”

      3. Bluebird Cafe

        Yelp Rating: 4.6

        Price: $$

Most mentioned menu items: Avocado toast, eggs benedict, pineapple coconut pancake, waffle

I can’t think of a more perfect name for a brunch and lunch spot than Bluebird Cafe. It makes me think of Colorado’s early mornings and the calm and quiet that come with them. The name has its roots in the restaurant’s time as The Egg & I. And after 15 years, the egg hatched and became the bluebird. While the menu is similar to that of The Egg & I, Bluebird kept all the best parts and elevated them with a focus on healthier options.

The cafe is typically filled with locals and regulars, which adds to its homey feel. One reviewer noted how the atmosphere contributed to the lively environment: “The restaurant was busy and lively, full of families, which made for a fun brunch atmosphere.” Another said, “Even before we sat down, the vibe inside told me it was going to be a solid meal. You can just feel it when a place is alive and packed with people.”

Another standout is how accommodating the restaurant is to guests with dietary needs. Several reviewers mention the variety of gluten-free options, and one said, “We showed up with a large group with many different dietary needs, and they did amazing! Not only got us seated quickly, but everyone got food that they could eat!”

Of course, it’s not just the atmosphere that keeps people coming back. One reviewer wrote, “Solid Nepali/Indian cuisine. They have a vast menu with everything you can think of.” Another reviewer, who rarely leaves reviews, said, “I don’t write very many reviews but I was caught off guard by how great the Chicken Shahenshah was! Spectacular balance of flavors in the sauce.”

And if you’re looking for a spot for frozen margaritas, you’ve found it. One reviewer wrote, “I ordered a frozen peach margarita and it was smooth and delicious.” If peach isn’t your thing, another customer recommends the mango version: “Grabbed the mango margarita with some Tajin and it was really great.”

                8. Pete’s Cafe

If there’s one menu item that customers really love, it’s the chicken fried steak. Reviewers “Highly, highly recommend the chicken fried steak,” calling it the best they’ve ever had. But if chicken fried steak isn’t your thing, there’s no shortage of other options.
